In the World, but not of the World: Paul’s letter to the Corinthians
If you could pick one church in the New Testament as the one that is closest to the church in America, it would be the Church of Corinth. Corinth was one of the largest cities in the Roman Empire. It was rich, decadent, ambitious, short on history but big on making a name for itself, consumed by sex, and a port city with a lot of cultures and peoples crossing paths. The Christians in Corinth thought they were spiritual giants, but no other church demonstrated more problems and inconsistencies about how to actually live the life of a Jesus follower. In this study, we are not only going to hear some of the greatest words ever written, but we are also going to learn the way to live life empowered by the triune God of grace. Pastor Ralph personally invites you to study one of his favorite pair of books of the Bible with him.
