West Side Youth

Within the youth ministry at West Side, we want to create opportunities for students to explore their faith in meaningful and relevant ways, to discover safe spaces where they can be real about themselves and the issues they are facing, and develop community that accepts and values others of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Regular Rhythms

We offer several opportunities for youth to gather during the week. Below are a few of our more popular options, as well as a revolving list of current events and opportunities to gather.

Sunday Gathering | Sundays 9-10:15am

Middle school and High School students are invited to join us on Sunday mornings Sept. 15 – Dec. 15 for a time of fellowship and digging into the Bible together. Students are invited to participate in the start of worship service, and then are released to their respective middle school and high school spaces just before the message starts. 

BASIC | Wednesdays 6-7:30pm

 

Basic keeps things, well, pretty basic for middle schoolers. We play games, we have a short, easy to understand lesson from the Bible, and we get into groups for conversation and fellowship. But just because things are basic doesn’t mean they aren’t loads of fun. MS youth will have a chance at participating in The Impossible Shot, get a treat from the Snack Shack, laugh and potentially run hard with crazy games, and hear about Jesus in a way that matters to their lives.

A2: After Alpha | Wednesdays 6-7:30pm

With Alpha and Youth Leadership. A2 or “After Alpha” is a group for high school students who have questions about faith, life, and God. We value peer-to-peer relationships where the group gets to figure things out together. There are no wrong answers, just honest opinions., Come for dinner at 5:15 pm and stay for games before digging into great conversation. Questions? By clicking above, I authorize my child, _________________________(named above), to participate in West Side Church Youth activities, and as a condition of his/her being allowed to do so I hereby release and discharge West Side Church and its constituent organizations and its officers, agents, and employees from any and all claims for personal injuries or property damage that he/she may suffer as a result of his/her participation in West Side activities, whether or not such injuries or damages are caused by the negligence (active or passive) of any of the entities or individuals named or described above. I hereby warrant and represent that he/she is physically fit and capable of taking part in such activities on the basis of advice given to me by his/her duly licensed medical doctor within the last twelve months, and I know of no change to his/her medical condition since receiving such advice that would affect the opinion of said medical doctor. I hereby give consent for medical treatment to be given to my child in the event it should be necessary. PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE AND WAIVER I hereby authorize for my child the making of photographs, motion pictures, videotapes, recordings, or other memorializing of said events participation therein, and the publication or other use thereof. I hereby waive any right to compensation therefore or any right that he/she otherwise might have to limit or control such making or use.
